A cashew retail packaging machine is a vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) system paired with a multihead (combination) weigher — for whole and split kernels — or an auger filler for cashew butter and powder. It automatically weighs, forms, fills and seals consumer pouches from 100g to 1kg (pillow, gusseted or stand-up), with an optional nitrogen flush for shelf life. Cashew Tech sources, specifies, supplies, installs and supports these machines, tuned per pack size.
One distinction up front: this is not the bulk vacuum tin machine, which packs 11.34/22.68 kg export tins, and it is not the packing-format guide. This machine exists to make branded, small-format retail packs that move a processor up the value chain.
VFFS + multihead weigher vs auger filler
The VFFS forms a pouch from a roll of laminated film, fills it and heat-seals it. A multihead weigher (for example a 10-head unit) drops an accurate target weight of kernels into each pouch; an auger filler meters paste or powder for cashew butter. The right filler depends on your product.
Pouch formats & sizes it runs
The machine runs pillow, gusseted and stand-up pouches across 100g, 200g, 500g and 1kg targets — the four sizes detailed on the 100g, 200g, 500g and 1kg pouch pages.
Nitrogen flushing for shelf life
An optional N2 flush displaces oxygen before sealing, slowing rancidity in the oil-rich kernel. Combined with a laminated barrier film, it is the standard route to a long retail shelf life.
Configurations
| Machine configuration | Product suited | Pack sizes | Atmosphere |
|---|---|---|---|
| VFFS + multihead weigher | Whole / split kernels | 100g–1kg | Air or N2 |
| VFFS + auger filler | Cashew butter / powder | Jars / pouches | Air or N2 |
| VFFS + linear/single weigher | Small-batch or single size | 100g–1kg | Air or N2 |
Head count, throughput in pouches per minute and changeover time are confirmed per machine — no speeds or specs are invented.
Integrating into your line
The machine takes food-grade stainless contact parts and an optional PLC/control panel, and ties into plant power — see the electrical control panel and the turnkey plant pages for how it fits the wider line. Kernels are filled at around 5% moisture for best texture and shelf life.
What Cashew Tech supplies & supports
Cashew Tech specifies the filler, pouch formats, coder and atmosphere option to your product and pack sizes, then supplies, installs and supports the machine. Speeds, head counts and prices are confirmed per configuration — none are guessed.
